Silva Man Killed in Carter County Crash

A Silva man died June 16 in a one-vehicle crash in Carter County. The accident occurred at 5:31 p.m.  on Highway A, three miles East of Ellsinore.

Tyler M. Phelps, 29, was westbound in a 2007 Ford F-150. The Highway Patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt. The crash occurred when Phelp’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. He reportedly overcorrected and the truck traveled across the roadway and struck a tree.

Phelps was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by Eric McSpadden, Carter County coroner.
