Herman Karl Nichols

Herman Karl Nichols was born in Lurton, AR on October 23, 1932 a son to Delbert and Ina Mae (nee Rosamond) Nichols.  He died on July 10, 2020 at Mercy Hospital-Jefferson.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years Alverna Mae (nee Bates) Nichols; four children: Steve (Marcey) Nichols, De Soto, Howard Nichols (Vivian Johnson), Bonne Terre, Pam (Terry) Winfrey, Barnhart, and Jennifer (Joe) Jones-Sojka, De Soto; eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; two brothers: Ronnie (Angie) Nichols, Desloge, and Arland (Colleen) Nichols, Belleview.  He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law Darla Nichols, three brothers Harold Nichols, Norman Nichols and his wife Mary Lou, and Everett Nichols; and two infant sisters. Herman served in the United States Air Force and then worked at the General Motors Automobile Manufacturing Plant at Wentzville were he retired as an insurance representative for U.A.W. Local 2250. He was also a faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in De Soto.  Funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the First Assembly of God Church in De Soto followed by burial at Caledonia Methodist Cemetery.   Arrangements were held by Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, De Soto, MO.
