Iron County Sees Little Increase in Census Data
The latest numbers are out from the Census Bureau and the self-response numbers haven’t moved much in the last month.
Responses to the 2020 Census in Iron County have reached 42.9%, which is 1.1% higher than last reported at 41.8% in June.
Current self-response rates nationwide is at 62.7%, which crept up shortly from the 60.0% reported at this time last month. While in Missouri, the rate is just above the national rate at 62.9%.
In mid-March, most households received an invitation in the mail to respond to the 2020 Census, followed by multiple reminders and a paper questionnaire. Census takers are scheduled to visit households that have not yet responded to the 2020 Census this month.
Breaking down the Arcadia Valley, Ironton has a current self-response rate of 53%, Arcadia is at 43.9%, and Pilot Knob is holding at 35.4%.
Census officials believe that the numbers haven’t moved much because most people are waiting to be interviewed by door-to-door census takers.
