Harold L. Worley
Harold L. Worley, age 94, formerly of Piedmont, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, MO. He was born December 3, 1925 in Piedmont, the son of Anthony Worley and Myrtle (Ruble) Worley.
Harold was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army from 1945 to 1947. He was retired from the Army Records Center and was a member of the VFW. He moved to Piedmont in 1982 and was active with the AARP chapter #1270 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He moved to Farmington in 2001 and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Harold was married to Mayme Sonney July 15, 1948 in Piggott, AR and they lived in Piedmont for many years. Mayme passed away May 5, 2010.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, Anthony and Myrtle Worley, his half brothers, Chester Worley, Ray Fowler and Norman Fowler, and his half sister, Neva Fowler.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Knox and her husband Robert, of St. Louis, MO, 2 grandchildren, Kimberly Shemwell and her husband Rocky, of Imperial, MO, John Christeson and his wife Lisa, of Carlyle, IL.
Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, Eva Jane Shemwell, Caleb Shemwell, Collin Shemwell, Chloe Shemwell, Ethan Christeson and Henry Christeson, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Chaplain Bob Webb officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Robert Knox, Rocky Shemwell, Collin Shemwell, John Christeson, O.J. Christeson and Don Morrison served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Mt. View Cemetery at Des Arc.
Memorials have been suggested to the Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
