Bernetta Sue Bergen
Bernetta Sue Bergen, daughter of the late Jesse Edward Brooks and Delsia Mae Barton, was born in Bixby, Missouri, on June 19, 1937. She departed this life at Brent B. Tinnin Manor in Ellington, Missouri, on August 16, 2020, at the age of 83.
On November 25, 1959, in Salem, Missouri, Bernetta was united in marriage to James Walter Bergen and to this union three children were born. Bernetta was a member of the Love of God Ministries in Bunker, Missouri. She was also a former member of Eastern Star. Bernetta enjoyed singing, shopping, and painting pictures. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.
Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Scotti Mitchell, one brother, Ronald Brooks, and one granddaughter, Mindy Ritter.
Bernetta is survived by her husband, Jim Bergen of Bunker, Missouri, one son, Jamie Christopher Bergen and companion Debbie of Bunker, Missouri, one daughter, Linda Ritter and husband Mel of Bunker, Missouri, 8 grandchildren, Brad Stricklin and wife Erin, Amanda Mathes and husband Wade, Travis Stricklin and companion Brooke, Jake Bergen, Keshia Meyer and husband Marty, Ryan Ritter and wife April, Amie Gant, and Robert Slater, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Bernetta will be missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing.
