Gertrude L. Asher

Gertrude L. Asher, daughter of the late Aaron Denvil White and Gweneth Elvadean Johnson, was born in Oates, Missouri, on June 2, 1944. She departed this life at her residence in Black, Missouri, on September 2, 2020, at the age of 76.

 

On April 14, 1973, in Oates, Missouri, Gertrude was united in marriage to Clinton Laverne Asher and together they raised four children. Gertrude was a member of the Locust Grove United Baptist Church in Oates, Missouri. She was a caregiver to foster children. Gertrude enjoyed reading, sewing, and going to church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, they were very near and dear to her heart.

 

Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Elvadean White.

 

Gertrude is survived by her husband, Clinton Asher of Oates, Missouri, three sons, Gregory Asher and wife Mona of Dixon, Missouri, Randy Asher and wife Jennifer of Farmington, Missouri, and Derek Asher of Oates, Missouri, one daughter, Barbara Scott of Bates City, Missouri, two brothers, Ricky White of Boonville, Missouri, and Eddie White of Oates, Missouri, four sisters, Janet Ratliff, Karen Mathes, Susan Myers and Mary Helms all of Oates, Missouri, 10 grandchildren, Tressa, Amber, Amanda, Nicholas, Anthony, Steven, Keegan, Kylee, Caitlin and Deianeiara, and 18 great-grandchildren. Gertrude will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing.

 

Visitation: Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, from 11 AM – 2 PM at Locust Grove United Baptist Church

Funeral to follow at 2 PM

Minister: Pastor Greg Freeman assisted by Bro. Adam Asher

Pallbearers: Jeremy Myers, Hank Mathes, Lynn Ratliff, Rick White, Levi Jordan, Aaron White, Nick Roberson, Scotty Shy and Kevin Helms

Burial: Myers Cemetery
