Janet J. Joiner

Janet J. Joiner, daughter of the late Albert Bowen and Mary Presley, was born in Frankclay, Missouri, on December 17, 1943. She departed this life at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, Missouri, on August 28, 2020, at the age of 76.

On May 3, 1969, in Valley Park, Missouri, Janet was united in marriage to Gerry E. Joiner and to this union three children were born. Gerry preceded her in death on March 26, 2018. Janet enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and playing bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandkids.

Janet loved the Lord and could not wait to walk the streets of gold with him. We know she is rejoicing in heaven now that she is reunited with her husband, whom she missed terribly. She was a preacher’s wife for many years, and enjoyed being a part of the church where she and Gerry were members for many years.

The last few years Janet resided at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home in Potosi, Missouri, where she loved to play bingo. She was very sociable and made many new friends there.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, Frank, Kennard, Bob, Tom, Danny and Johnny Bowen, and two sisters, Blanche Bobbett and Susan Beardsley.

Janet is survived by one son, Tony Joiner and wife Sarah of Desoto, Missouri, two daughters, Tracy Nissen and husband Jeff of Potosi, Missouri, and Sheri Price and husband Ben of Ellington, Missouri, two brothers, Presley Bowen, and Harold Bowen of Bismark, Missouri, one sister, Mig Mason of St. Peters, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Ashley Martin and husband Nathan, Jessica Evans and husband Jesse, Curtis Price, Jacob Nissen, Bradley Price, Christopher Nissen, Samantha Price, and Logan Joiner, and three great-grandchildren, Oliver Nissen, Silas Martin, and Tucker Evans.
