Lady Panthers Fall to Central

The South Iron varsity volleyball team fell to Central during action Tuesday, Sept. 15, on the road. South Iron fell 9-25 and 20-25.

South Iron’s record is currently 5-5-1. Central is a respected program that produces a tough defensive and quick offensive team.

“Our girls were able to dig some hard hits and answer back with some of our own,” said Coach Adriann D’Amico. “Playing teams of this caliber continues to show us what we are doing well and what we need to work on. While our serve receive passing is strong, we need to continue to improve upon our ability to answer back with a strong offensive attack. Megan Lashley did a great job of finding Central’s holes and placing the ball there.”

Megan Lashley had seven kills and Drew Gayle 5. Enzley Dinkins had 2 aces and Megan Lashley and Alyssa Bennett each had one.

Enzley Dinkins led the team with assists with 12. Drew Gayle had 5.

Madison Ayers had 12 digs, and Drew Gayle finished with 11. Drew Gayle and Alyssa Bennett had one double block.

Madison Ayers received 24 serves.
