Claud “Gene” Eugene Pigg

Claud “Gene” Eugene Pigg, 93, of Williamsville, MO, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Westwood Hills Health Care Center, Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born in Wayne County, MO, October 3, 1926, to parents Eldon and Hixie (Howard) Pigg. Gene was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He married Edna Vaneta Duncan on May 13, 1948, in Greenville, MO, and to this union, one child was born. Gene proudly served our country, as Master Sergeant, in the United States Army. He served during World War II, and the Korean War earning several medals during his service. When Gene returned home from the military, he became a self-employed carpenter. He loved to build things and was very handy with his hands. Gene enjoyed playing his guitar. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-one years; his brothers: Clifton, Harry, and Howard Pigg; his sister: Pauline Prosise, Ollie Wallace, Dollie Eaton, and Vileen Eaton. Gene is survived by his son: Dale Pigg and wife Susan of Fenton; granddaughter: Tiffanie Pigg; and great-grandson: Nathen Pigg. Gene will be greatly missed by his family. Visitation was held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Duncan Cemetery, Williamsville. Graveside service followed at 2:00 pm, also at Duncan Cemetery. Pastor Larry Duncan ministered to the family. Nathen Pigg, Dennis Dunegan, Gary Clements, Bob Goldman, Tony Ingracia, and Rick Pigg served as pallbearers. Burial immediately followed. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
