Edward Jospeh Kmiecik, Jr.

Edward Jospeh Kmiecik, Jr., age 69, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. He was born November 5, 1950 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of Edward Kmiecik. Sr. and Anna (Skolmowski) Kmiecik. Ed was raised in the Catholic Church and was a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corp, serving from 1969 to 1971. He was married to Rosemary Wright March 7, 1992 in Cahokia, IL and worked as a Machinist for the Mendenhall Company in St. Louis. He retired and had lived at Vulcan the past 5 years.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Edward and Anna Kmiecik, Sr., his father in law, Raymond Guy Wright, 2 brothers, John and Water Kmiecik, 2 brothers in law, Charles “Rich” Williams, Charles “Scoots” Snyder, and 2 sisters, Sylvia Zabawa and Teresa Barnes.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Kmiecik, of the home, 2 children, Christopher Guy Kmiecik, of Vulcan, Emily Louise King, of Nixa, MO, his mother in law, Ruby Wright, of Vulcan, 2 sisters, Patricia Snyder, of Belleville, IL, Christina “DeeDee” Williams, of Valmeyer, IL.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Christopher Edward, Jaxson Jacob Guy, Lucy Rose and Scarlett Odessa, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He will be very deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Rev. Daniel Tidmore officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Josh Wright, Josh Jenkins. Jeff Snyder, Colton Snyder, Jeff Braum, Nicholas Braum and Rich Williams served as Pall Bearers. Military Honors were provided at graveside the the Missouri Honor Guard and the US Marine Corps. Interment was in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
