Gnome Home Vandalize
Less than a month after a gnome home was completed, it has been vandalized. Phil Baker of Piedmont, the man who devoted hours to the project, said Sunday evening that he had been notified that the gnome home had been vandalized.
Security cameras were in place on the American Legion building, and will be reviewed. “You will be held accountable and prosecuted,” Baker said.
“I checked today (Monday) and happy to report only minimal damage with a few broken pieces that can be repaired,” Baker said. “The report I got late last night seemed like the damage was worse than it is. It seems they were more interested in ransacking and throwing things around. Thank you to all that were concerned, and the offers to assist me in getting it back in working order.”
Since its completion, the gnome house has been a hit with young families. Children have been visiting the gnome house and leaving notes and drawings.
