William “Bill” W. Cook

William “Bill” W. Cook, 84, of Dittmer, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, MO. He was born in Benton, IL, April 22, 1936, to parents Albert A. and Ethel LaVerne (Gettings) Cook.

Bill was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He married Lilly Henderson, March 30, 1962. He enjoyed the hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors and playing bingo. He attended college earning his master’s degree in Industrial Arts. Bill was good with his hands especially in wood working. He taught shop class at Eminence, Annapolis, and retired while teaching at Eureka. Bill proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He loved traveling all over the world while serving in the US Navy. Bill was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time them.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-five years; his brother, Robert “Bob” Cook; and sister, Judith Cook.

Bill is survived by his children: Kenneth Cook and wife Mary Jo of West Plains, Rachel Cook of Dittmer; grandchildren: Sean Lutz, Kaitlin Lutz, Blakely Cook, Bethany Bailey; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at 10:30 am, Sunday, October 25, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Jimmy Szoyka, Michael Szoyka, Blakley Cook, Sean Lutz, Gilbert Wheeler, and Scott Callahan served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc, with full military honors provided by the United States Navy and American Legion Post 281 of Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
