The April 2021 election will be here before we know it. Filings for various boards in Iron County for the election begin next week. Filings are scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
It is important for residents to know the people they are electing, and what they are filing for. Those that are elected determine many aspects of the lives of county residents.
Those that are elected to city council play a big part in how city tax dollars are spent, as well as, set local laws and improve the city as a hole. Those elected to school boards, hire teachers and administrators, and work on improving the school system.
Candidates wishing to file for city offices, will do so at city hall. Filing for county offices will be done at the County Clerk’s office.
Candidates filing for school board, should do so at the school administration office.
Within the newspaper, there are numerous April Municipal Election filing notices. Each notice gives specific information about the openings available.
The deadline to file for the Tuesday, April 6 election is by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
