James “Dale” Carty Sr.

James “Dale” Carty Sr., son of the late Dallas Clee Carty and Mildred Opal Helms, was born in Black, Missouri, on May 24, 1936. He departed this life at Claru Deville Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Missouri, on November 14, 2020, at the age of 84.

 

On February 2, 1963, in Lesterville, Missouri, Dale was united in marriage to Joyce Jean Goggin and to this union two children were born. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing, mowing grass and camping. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.

 

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Steve and David Carty, and one sister, Wanda Goesman.

 

Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Carty of Lesterville, Missouri, one son, James “Jim” Dale Carty Jr. and wife Trudy of Viburnum, Missouri, one daughter, Pam Carrow and husband Mike of Farmington, Missouri, three brothers, Don Carty and wife Donna, John Carty and wife Denise, and Lindel Carty all of Carlinville, Illinois, four sisters, Doris Rush, Sue Tinker, and Sandy Bomkamp and husband Paul all of Carlinville, Illinois, and Brenda Winingar and husband Elmer Jr. of Lesterville, Missouri, a brother-in-law, James Roy Goggin and wife Mary of Wisconsin, and a sister-in-law, Darleen Goggin of Lesterville, Missouri, two grandchildren, Zach Carrow and Dallas Carty, and 2 step-grandchildren, Benjamin Sutton and Arielle Sutton. Dale will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.

 

 

Visitation: Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 11 AM – 1 PM, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, Missouri

Funeral will follow at 1 PM

Minister: Pastor Greg Freeman

Burial: Carty Cemetery

In Lieu of Flowers: Donations can be made to the Carty Cemetery (Wayne Henson or Jim Carty)
