Steven “Z-Man” Zagozda
Steven “Z-Man” Zagozda of Middlebrook, MO passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 17 days. He was born August 23, 1953 in Omaha, NE to the late Raymond “RZ” Zagozda and Dorothy Vacek Zagozda who survives. On March 21, 2020 he was united in marriage to Diane Riehl Zagozda who survives. Also surviving are his daughter Amy Dow and husband Chris of Papillion, NE, his son Steven Jr. and wife Sasha of Omaha, NE, six grandchildren; Elly, Carson, Eli, Hunter, Asher, Mason, three brothers; Ray and wife Ann Zagozda of Encinitas, CA, Tom and wife Lori Zagozda of Omaha, NE, Chuck and wife Julie Zagozda of Omaha, NE, one sister Mary Corbaley of Omaha, NE, a sister-in-law Kathy Zagozda, and many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, one son Brian Zagozda, one brother Paul Zagozda, and a brother-in-law Jack Corbaley. Z-Man, as he was known by all who knew and loved him, worked many years for the Asarco Company, beginning in Omaha. When the plant in Omaha was closed he was transferred to the Glover plant in 1996. When Z-Man wasn’t working or spending quality time with Diane, he could be found enjoying the outdoors either hunting, fishing, relaxing by his pond, or he would be at a charity event helping raise money for different causes, especially when it came to helping the children. Z-Man had a heart the size the universe and believed in helping people from every walk of life. He was a member of the A.V. Elks Lodge, the A.V. Eagles Lodge, the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), and other groups and clubs who believed in serving those whom are in need. He was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather, friend, and all-around great guy. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Valley for all of those who want to pay their respect.
