Roy Dean Farris

Roy Dean Farris, age 79, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born February 20, 1941 in Sparta, IL, the son of James Farris and Elsie (Patterson) Farris.
A long time resident of Piedmont, he was a truck driver and of the Baptist faith. He married Nancy Mann August 19, 1961 in Piedmont and she passed away August 4, 1997.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, James and Elsie Farris, 3 brothers, Gene, James and Charles Farris, 3 sisters, Pearl Quillman, Eunice Baker and Elloise Chandler.
Survivors include 2 children, Tammy Stricklin and her husband Gary, of Poplar Bluff, Teddy Farris and his companion Crystal Bird, of Poplar Bluff, 2 brothers, Bill Farris and his wife Frieda, of Piedmont, Johnny Farris and his wife Lueva, of Thompsonville, IL, 3 sisters, Beverly James, of Wayne City, IL, Esther Kay Farris, of Patterson, and Ethel Gilman and her husband Larry, of Christopher, IL.
In addition, he is survived by 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Moss and her husband Aaron, of Poplar Bluff, Shaylan Sandlin and her husband Casey, of Poplar Bluff, Travis Stricklin and his wife Leah, of Monroe, MI, Ty Farris, of Poplar Bluff, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Rev. Roger Mayo officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Casey Sandlin, Travis Stricklin, Aaron Moss, John Farris, Dylan Fellows and Jimmy Keith served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
