Truman Combs

Truman Combs, 79, of Thayer, Mo.  passed away Monday, Feb. 7, at his home. He was born August 16, 1941 in Jobe, Mo., to Floyd and Amanda Williams Combs.
Truman graduated from Alton High School with the class of 1959. On May 19, 1961, he was married to Linda Boren.
Truman served in the U.S. Navy four years and retired from the Missouri State Water Patrol after 27 years, working at Clearwater Lake and then Stockton Lake.
He was a member of the Thayer church of Christ. He loved his church family and always had a desire to be a help to others.
Truman is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Combs of the family home, three sons Scott (Kim) of Piedmont, Darin of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Dalin of the family home, sister Pat Wynn of Alton, Mo., seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends.
Infant sons, Mitchel David and Mark Kevin, parents Floyd and Amanda Combs, brothers Glen, Harris, Clifford, Benny, Bill, two infant brothers, and sisters Helen Bray and Madge Roach preceded him in death.
Services will be held Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
Due to Covid-19 and weather conditions, there were no visitation or graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Paragould Children’s Home or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital of Memphis. Donations can be left at the funeral home.
