Jerry Eugene Rose
Jerry Eugene Rose, age 87, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his home near Patterson. He was born March 9, 1933 at Piedmont, the son of Lee Rose and Mae (Dickerson) Rose.
A lifelong resident of Wayne county, Jerry farmed and attended the New Hope General Baptist Church at Silva. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955. Jerry was married to Sylvia Finch November 19, 1955 in St. Louis and she passed away July 27, 2014.
Also preceding him in death are his parents, Lee and Mae Rose, 2 brothers, Lacy Lee Rose and Carl Joe Rose, 2 sisters, Freida Sigman and Laverne Barks, and 1 great grandson, Stryker Smith.
Survivors include 4 sons, Jim Rose and his wife Laurie, of Coal Valley, IL, Rodger Rose and his wife Karen, of Patterson, David Rose and his wife Stacy, of Patterson, Johnny Rose and his wife Melissa, of Piedmont, 2 sisters, Anita Wills, of Greenville and Margie Cook, of Greenville.
Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Bro. Dan Ross officiating. The Ross family provided special music and David Davis, Justin Rose, Matthew Rose, Kevin Sigman, Rendell Wills and Gary Rose served as Pall Bearers. Graveside honors were given by the US Army and the Piedmont American Legion Post 281 Honor Guard. Interment was in the New Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been suggested to the New Liberty Cemetery Association.
