Lovelle June Thorsland

Lovelle June Thorsland, 97, of Hazelwood, MO, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Edwardsville, IL, on February 8, 1923, to parents John Eric and Ailyion (Nickens) Thorsland Sr.

June was a loving sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, sewing, and gardening in her younger years. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the little ones. She was loved by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: William “Bill” Eugene and John Thorsland Jr., both longtime residents of the Piedmont area.

June is survived by her sister: Naomi Lucille Thorsland of Hazelwood; nieces Teresa Buresh of Piedmont, Eugenia Anderson of Eminence, Johnda Meaux and husband Greg of Hazelwood; nephew: Leon Henson and wife Marilyn of Arnold; sisters-in-law: Maggie Thorsland, and Mary Thorsland of Arnold. June will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home in the Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 5, 2021, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Leon Henson provided music. Soft music was provided by Justin Meaux and Eric Henson. Justin Meaux, Ben Thompson, Rob Montgomery, Donnie Beard, Leon Henson, John Montgomery, Tom Anderson, and Sam Anderson served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Clay cemetery, Piedmont.
