Ruth Ann Crandall
Ruth Ann Crandall, daughter of the late Peachie Baker and Bud Baker was born in Lesterville, Missouri, on October 14, 1944. She departed this life at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri, on February 6, 2021, at the age of 76.
Ruth’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Her favorite interests included crocheting, girls’ retreats with her sisters, nieces and friends, lunch club with her high school friends, working the Baker’s Boutique Booth at the Reynolds County Fair, and collecting items with sentimental value such as family pictures, Norman Rockwell plates, Precious Moment statues and Hallmark Christmas Bears.
Ruth’s compassion and care extended well beyond her immediate family, as she widely embraced serving as a “second mom” and confidant to so many of her friends, children’s friends and old neighbors. Ruth was a simple, yet dynamic, remarkable soul, full of empathy, loyalty and ever-lasting love.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lowell Baker, four sisters, Maude Baker, Shirley Dement, Jettie Feast, and Linda French, two nephews, Mike Schutz and Darren McNail, and one great-nephew, Jason Barton.
Ruth is survived by one son, Bradley Crandall and wife Josie of Eureka, Missouri, one daughter, Lindsay Sitze and husband Daniel of Union, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Mia, Brody, Cooper, Nora, Bodie, Carly and Eden. Ruth will be deeply missed by her family including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with a host of friends who will mourn her passing.
