Wayne County Election Returns

Only 7.74 percent of registered voters in Wayne County went to the polls Tuesday. Just 420 ballots were cast in the entire county.

Robert Bubby Burns and Matt Graham were re-elected to the Clearwater School Board. Burns received 176 votes and Graham 149. Eric M. Reynolds received 111 and Mark Monroe Hackworth Jr. had 47.

In Williamsville, Ruby Prewitt and Nichole Owens were elected alderman at-large. Owens let all vote-getters with 51 and Prewitt received 42. Rounding out the field were Lisa Hillis with 12 and Monica Geer with 8.

In Greenville, Carl Rickman and Jeremy Watson were elected as alderman at-large. Rickman received 33 votes and Watson 22. Jarred Costephens had 15 votes.

Linda Palmer was elected Ward I alderman in Piedmont. She beat Morgan Townsend-Robinson by two votes. Palmer had 22 votes and Townsend-Robinson 20. William “Bill” McMurry was unopposed for another term as collector with 64 votes. Richard Sanders was re-elected chief of police with 59 votes. Kyle Allen was re-elected Ward II alderman with 24 votes.
