It has been a busy week at the Nutrition Center! I first would like to report that Mrs. Lillie Turner won the Easter Basket Giveaway that was drawn for on Good Friday. Mrs. Turner received a large basket with numerous gifts, candies, and a ham with all the fixings just in time for an Easter dinner. Congratulations, Mrs. Turner!
Friday, April 9, we added four new Veterans Honor Wall inductees. They were James Becker of Williamsville, Billy Hager, Gary Melton, and Tom Rankin, all from the Poplar Bluff area, who support our Center. There was family present for each of the honored Veterans. Photos have been submitted for this edition.
BINGO was held Friday evening from 5:00 – 9:00. We had a good crowd, but were missing some from the Patterson and Piedmont area due to the storm activity. We did see some new faces, which was great. Everyone had a fun time, and each person went home with a prize. Thank you to all who donated prizes to help make the fundraiser a success.
Tuesday, April 13, is our monthly WCNC Board Meeting. I will report on the agenda in next week’s column. As always, the meetings are every second Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.
Friday, April 16, will be our FISH, SHRIMP, AND FROG LEGS menu! It is also the day for BIRTHDAY CAKE for our April birthdays. Be sure to make plans to come out to dine with us. I will be looking for YOU!
