Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Marie Barbara Lou Quaethem

Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Barbara Lou Quaethem, daughter of the late Jack Clyde Land and Caroline Louise Land, was born in Bourbon, Missourai, on April 16, 1928. She departed this life at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on August 28, 2021, at the age of 93.

On November 8, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Barbara was united in marriage to Raymond H. Quaethem Sr. and to this union four children were born. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2001. Barbara attended the Webb Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and watching cooking shows. Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Raymond Quaethem Jr., one daughter, Barbara Ann Quaethem, and two brothers, John and Edwin Land. 

Barbara is survived by one son, Sterling Edwin Quaethem and wife Andrea of Houston, Texas, one daughter, Linda Bradish and husband John of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 6 grandchildren, Kerie, Kathie, Kyle, Dan, Melissa and Steven, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Barbara will be deeply missed by her family and friend who will mourn her passing. 

Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington, Missouri. Funeral followed.Minister: Pastor Jim Stewart

Burial was at Hampton Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Feed the Children Organization.
