Shirley Mae Logue

Shirley Mae Logue, 88, of Oxford, KS passed away September 1, 2021 at The Joy Home of Oxford.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 5, 2021 at the First Church of the Nazarene – 1928 N. 11th St. Arkansas City, KS 67005. Visitation will be from 5-6 P.M. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home of Arkansas City. The family would prefer that guests were masks.

Shirley was born July 30, 1933 in Perkins, OK the daughter of William and Lona Mae (Willey) Crenshaw. She graduated from high school in Stillwater, OK and later received a bachelor’s in education from Oklahoma State University. Shirley was united in marriage to Chester E. Logue Sr. in June 1960, the couple later divorced. Shirley was a proud educator, she worked for many years as an elementary teacher in Arkansas City and Haysville, KS, she also worked for the IRS. Her faith was a very important part of her life and Shirley enjoyed attending the First Church of the Nazarene, singing at church, and reading her Bible. Shirley was a talented seamstress and cook, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her sons David Logue (Karen), Chester “Chet” Logue Jr. Dayton “Kyle” Logue, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brother Donald Crenshaw. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Clyde Crenshaw, Claude Crenshaw, , Hazel Scott, Forest Crenshaw, Cecil Crenshaw, Thelma Denner, and Harold Crenshaw, and grandson James David Logue and granddaughter Cassidy Nicole Logue.
