Lois Mae Skaggs
Lois Mae Skaggs, daughter of the late Abe Morton and Maggie (Kohn) Morton, was born in Redford, Missouri, on October 11, 1935. She departed this life at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, Missouri, on September 7, 2021, at the age of 85.
On November 2, 1957, in East Alton, Illinois, Lois was united in marriage to Jesse Paul Skaggs and to this union three children were born. Jesse preceded her in death on February 4, 2013. Lois was a spiritual person. She was a dog lover, enjoyed shopping, eating out and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Dwight Skaggs, her son, Alan Skaggs and his wife Rhonda (Blevins) Skaggs, 4 brothers, Herman, Thurman, Furman and Alford (“Abe, Rusty”), and 6 sisters, Maxine, Cotton, Jane, Pauline, Sylvia Jean and Mavis.
Lois is survived by one son, Kevin Skaggs and wife Kathleen (McGrath) Skaggs of St. Louis, Missouri, 2 grandchildren, Alicia (Skaggs) Voegtli and husband Tom, and Amber Skaggs, and 4 great-grandchildren, Grace, Kate, Emma and Drew. Lois will be deeply missed by her relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.
Visitation was Saturday, September 11, 2021, at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri, funeral to follow. Minister was Pastor Geraldine Rains Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery. Arrangements by McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.
