Charles “Noel” Powers
Charles “Noel” Powers, son of the late Homer Powers and Allie Golden (Robinette) Powers, was born in Black, Missouri, on June 27, 1935. He departed this life at Brent B. Tinnin Manor in Ellington, Missouri, on September 13, 2021, at the age of 86.
On October 28, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri, Noel was united in marriage to Helen Frances Nichols and to this union one child was born. Helen preceded him in death on August 1, 2011. Noel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lesterville, Missouri. He had also been a member of the Lesterville School Board, Elks Lodge, the Lesterville Jeep Club and a member & officer of the Kiwanis Club. Noel enjoyed wood crafting, fixing anything & everything, camping and jeep riding. His greatest joy was Macie! And he always loved playing music with his mother, brothers, sisters.
Noel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Gary Noel Powers, 4 brothers, Willard Eugene Powers, Donald Lee Powers, Ray Powers and Marvin Leon Powers, and 3 sisters, Lucille Meatheany, Thelma Walker and Ruby Gregory.
Noel is survived by their daughter Kelly Lynn Barton and husband Tommy Wade of Lesterville, Missouri, one daughter-in-law Diane Powers and husband Steve Tucker of Farmington, Missouri, daughter Donna Lee Groves and husband Forrest Lee of Poplar Bluff. 3 sisters, Helen Akins of Harrisburg, Missouri, Doris Martin (Doug) of Wentzville, Missouri, and Marty Penny of Troy, Missouri. 7 grandchildren, Macie Noelle Barton, Emily (Mike) Young, Dawn VanDover, Donnie (Kim) Robertson, Jimmy (Amy) Robertson, Robyn (Cameron) Bomar-Michaels, and Melissa (Ron) Rodriguez, and 9 great-grandchildren, Brandon Gary, Alexis Noelle, Michael, Boone, Alyssa, Logan, Dylan, Elijah and Audrey. Noel will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation was Friday, September 17, 2021, 10AM-1PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, Missouri funeral to follow. Minister was Rev. Mark Winn. Eulogy was given by David Walker. Special music was by Ray & Lorna Reese. Burial was at Rayfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Barton, David Walker, Timmy Akins, Don Robertson, Mike Young, JR Robbs, Bobby Joe Parks, Timmy Thurman and Joseph Cangelosi.
