Doris Jeanne Kallies
Doris Jeanne Kallies, 88, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021 in Naples, FL. Jeanne had been in the hospital battling COVID for a week.
She was born on February 21, 1933 to Carl and Esther Henson in Missouri. Jeanne was raised and went to school in Piedmont (“Peach Tree”), Missouri.
Jeanne enjoyed many careers working as a doctor’s assistant, a fit model and as a stewardess for Delta Airlines, where she met her beloved husband, Robert W. Kallies. After settling in Naperville, Illinois, she enjoyed her time raising her son and daughter and being active in the church and choir at Bethany Lutheran Church.
Upon relocating to Naples, Florida, Jeanne was delighted to work at the Merry-Go-Round Shop on 5th Avenue. Jeanne became a devoted and active member of the First Baptist Church of Naples, where she also served in the choir and taught Sunday school. Her love and talent of singing also included her participation in singing at the Naples Philharmonic.
Many that knew Jeanne knew of her passion for interior decorating and fashion.
Most importantly, Jeanne’s life was led by her devout faith and fervent service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Kerrie (Russ) Jersak; a son, Kurt (Neva) Kallies; four grandchildren, Ryan (Kacie) Jersak, Natalie Jersak, Kristine Kallies and Carl Kallies; one great-grandson, Justin; and one step-great-grandson, Sean.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert Kallies; grandson, Justin Jersak; her parents, Carl and Esther Henson; her step-mother, Edna Henson; and her in laws, Alwin and Martha Kallies.
She was greatly loved by her family and we will miss her dearly.
Jeanne will be laid to rest with her family on later date at Peach Tree Church in Piedmont, Missouri. A private family service will be held in Naples, Florida on a later date.
