Velda Kay Cox, age 75, passed away Saturday, September 18th, at her home near Bonne Terre, MO. She was born April 25, 1946 in Delasue, MO, the daughter of Winferd and Muarel (McGraw) Yancey.
Velda was a retired Registered Nurse for a nursing home in Bridgeton, MO and was a member of Primrose Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. She was married to George L. Cox November 1, 2003 at Bonne Terre and had lived in Bonne Terre for many years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Winferd and Muarel Yancey.
Survivors include her husband, George Cox, of the home, 1 daughter, Amanda Easton and her husband Cedric, of New Port Richey, FL, 1 sister, Linda Russell, of Potosi, MO, and a grandchild on the way, along with many other family and friends.
She will be very deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and George Cox, Steve Cox, Larry Cox and Cody Jarvis served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Annapolis Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
