Ruth A Youngblood

Ruth A Youngblood passed away on August 26, 2021, at the age of 95 with family present. She is proceeded in death by her parents Everett and Edith Lewis, husband Jay Youngblood, 7 brothers and sisters and son Terry Michael Berryman. She is survived by son Joseph Charles Berryman (Olivia) and Daughter-in-law Sandy Berryman, 3 grandchildren Mike, Brad and Cymbre and 5 great-grandchildren Olivia, Lily, Gabby, Cassanda and Camara. Ruth was a member of the American Lutheran Church Sun City, AZ.

Ruth was born in St. Louis, MO, September 27, 1925, and grew up in the state of MO. She was married to Joseph W. Berryman from 1946 to 1970 raising their two sons, Joe and Terry. She had a long and successful career as a hairdresser in the cities and states the family lived. The family was transferred to Memphis in 1961. She lived in Memphis until 1978 where she won numerous trophies including State and Local championships as a competitive hair stylist and became a successful business owner-operator of Fashion Flair Beauty Salon. 

She married Jay Youngblood in March of 1977 and they relocated to the Sun City area in early 1978 and had 3 wonderful years together prior to Jay’s passing in 1980. Ruth attended massage therapy school, studied and passed the AZ massage therapy exam becoming a licensed massage therapist until her passing. She truly loved researching, studying and becoming certified in new and different healing techniques. Ruth was always ready to help clients, family and friends and to improve their physical wellbeing with her training and knowledge. She was a loving, caring and giving person. She loved her family and friend and will be missed by everyone. 

A celebration of life for Ruth will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the American Lutheran Church 17200 N Dell Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ. In lieu of flowers ,donations may be given to the American Lutheran Church or your favorite charity in her memory.
