Burke Bruce Walker
Burkye Bruce Walker, age 88, was born on Lower Dry Valley near Ellington, Missouri, on November 8, 1932, and departed this life in Ellington, Missouri, on October 10, 2021.
Burkye was united in marriage to Glenda Gean Evans on August 16, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas. He was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church. Burkye worked as an auto body repairman and painted in Ellington for many years.
Burkye was a United States Navy Veteran. He served aboard the USS General A.E. Anderson and Tongue Point Naval Base in Astoria, Oregon, during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in May of 1956.
Burkye was preceded in death by their 3 children, Burkye Bruce Walker Jr., two daughters, Elizabeth Ellen Walker and Sheryl Annette Williams, and one sister, Wanda Walker.
Burkye is survived by his wife Glenda Walker of Ellington, Missouri, two grandchildren, Scott and Amanda, two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cyra, and one brother, Emil E. Walker Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina. Burkye will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will mourn his passing. Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11AM at the Ellington City Cemetery
