Shirley Ann Neuman

Shirley Ann Neuman of Pilot Knob, MO went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 2 days. She was born November 23, 1933 in Kennett, MO to the late Charles and Lois Brown Ridings. On October 20, 1961 Shirley was united in marriage to Leon Michael Neuman who preceded her in rest on March 17, 2009. Surviving Shirley is a daughter Lucretia Whited and husband Stan of Arcadia, MO. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brittany Stinson and husband Jeff of Ironton, MO and Bethany Whited of Springfield, MO, two great-grandchildren Ariella and Aviana, and a host of other loving family members and friends. Shirley is preceded in rest by her husband Leon, one brother Gary Miles Ridings, and two sisters Derhonda Ridings and Kathy Jean Smithmier-Norris. After graduating from high school Shirley went on to obtain her Master’s Degree from Arkansas State University Jonesboro, and then went on to Southeast Missouri University where she obtained her Specialist Degree in counseling. After receiving her education, Shirley worked as an educator and school counselor for many years. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ironton, member and past president of the Mina Sauk Club, the Arcadia Valley Country Club, MSTA, enjoyed bowling with her husband, Lee, and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother, a devoted wife, dedicated educator and counselor, and wonderful friend who will be missed by all who were blessed by her love. A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00 am from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm from the Cole Family Funeral Home. Interment followed the services in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park in Ironton, MO. Rev. John Canterbury officiated the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Faith Foundation Children’s Home.
