Denver “Ray” Patterson

Denver “Ray” Patterson, son of the late James Andrew Patterson and Rosia Evelyn (Crabtree) Patterson, was born on Logan Creek in Shannon County, Missouri, on December 8, 1937. He departed this life at his residence in Midridge, Missouri, on October 20, 2021, at the age of 83.

On September 5, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, Ray was united in marriage to Dorothy Brown. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2021. Ray accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on October 15, 2021, and let all who visited him know it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, having company, playing cards, fish fry’s, back roading, and gardening. Ray loved Bluegrass music and playing the mandolin. 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two infants, Christina and Christopher Patterson, his son, Larry Patterson, his daughter, Susan Quinn, one brother, Paul Patterson, and one sister, Dorothy Patterson.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Joyce McColgin and husband Rick of Salem, Missouri, one brother, Harrel Patterson and wife Pat of Jadwin, Missouri, many grandchildren, Chris Smith, Andy Smith and wife Rachel, Ben Smith, Danielle Quinn, Casey Quinn, David Quinn, Andrea Patterson and Nathan Dennison, several great-grandchildren, Christina, Drew, C.J., Logan, Blake, Levi, Maygan, Martina, Dominick and Braiden, and many nieces and nephews. Ray will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will mourn his passing. 

Visitation was Saturday, October 23, 2021, 5-8PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Bunker, Missouri. Funeral was Sunday, October 24, 2021, 2PM. Minister was Pastor Ron Walter. Burial was at Blair’s Creek Cemetery. Arrangements  by McSpadden Funeral Home, Bunker, Missouri.
