Albert “Lloyd” King
Albert “Lloyd” King, son of the late James Lee King and Della (Chitwood) King, was born in Redford, Missouri, on July 24, 1933. He departed this life at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center on October 30, 2021, at the age of 88.
On August 2, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, Lloyd was united in marriage to Freda Brooks and to this union two children were born. Freda preceded him in death on May 31, 2020. Lloyd was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church. Lloyd enjoyed hauling and raising cattle, taking care of his farm, and visiting with family and friends. One of Lloyd’s greatest joys was watching his grandkids play ball.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, Kimberly King, two brothers, James Floyd and Harvey Lee, and three sisters, Sally Seely, Freda Ferguson and Helen Hargrove.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Keith King and wife Christy of Odessa, Texas, four grandchildren, Clayton King, Kyle King, Korey King and wife Paula, and Krista Greene and husband Maurice, and ten great-grandchildren, Gavinn, Calvin, Brycen, Trenaty, Kaylee, Cameryn, Max, Avery, Anni and Kingston. Lloyd will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation was held Thursday, November 4, 2021, 5-8 PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Funeral was Friday, November 5, 2021, 11 AM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri. Minister was Pastor Jim Stewart. Burial was at Ellington Memorial Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers: Donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
