Joan Loraine Whaley
Joan Loraine Whaley, 78, of Bonne Terre, MO, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Bonne Terre, MO, January 8, 1943, to parents Andrew A. and Wilma L. (Carver) Wilfong.
Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She married Everett William Whaley on September 26, 1964, and they were blessed with five beautiful daughters. Joan enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles and her flowers. She was an avid reader and loved to read her Bible and Diane Palmer books. Joan lived for God, her husband, and her children. She was a wonderful nurturer and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty years; daughter: Sherry Aguilar; sisters: Thelma Blackwell, and Carol Crump.
Joan is survived by her children: Ramona Palmer and husband Terry, Andrea Ash, Penny Allen, LaDonna Ziegler and significant other Gary Oshia; grandchildren: Sonya McMahon, Jeremy Whaley, Mary Sansoucie, Joseph Ash, Amanda Boyer, Scheri Whaley, Rebecca Whaley, Kyle Whaley, April Arnold, Jacob Mabery, Sara Mabery, Zackary Whaley, Renaldo Aguilar, Cheyenne Kirn, and Cole Sansoucie; many great-grandchildren; brothers: Wayne Wilfong and wife Sheila, Larry Wilfong and wife Deloris, Richard Wilfong and wife Rebecca. Joan will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Visitation was held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Crossroads Baptist Church, near Greenville. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also at Crossroads Baptist Church. Bro. Kevin Boatright ministered to the family. A heartfelt eulogy was provided by her granddaughter, Amanda Boyer. Jeremy Whaley, Joseph Ash, Jacob Maybery, Cole Sansoucie, Kyle Whaley, Ely McMahan, Peyton Boyer, Terry Palmer, and Gary Oshia served as pallbearers. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery.
