William “Bill” Bersel Buckner
William “Bill” Bersel Buckner, son of the late George Dewey Buckner and Mammie (Gowen) Buckner, was born in Hadley, Missouri, on January 23, 1938. He departed this life near Centerville, Missouri, on November 10, 2021, at the age of 83.
On August 31, 1957, in Centerville, Missouri, Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy Maxine Hoyt and to this loving union six children were born. He was married to Dorothy, the love of his life, for 62 years. Dorothy preceded him in death on November 3, 2019. Bill was a member of the Redford Baptist Church. He was also a member of the CKSP Doggers Association. Bill enjoyed trapping, digging ginseng and hauling junk metal. His greatest joy was running dogs and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Jimmy Buckner, and two brothers, Tommy and Charles Buckner.
Bill is survived by 4 sons, Michael Buckner and wife Lillie of Middlebrook, Missouri, Danny Buckner and wife Angie of Duncan, South Carolina, Eddie Buckner and fiancé Shaina of Ellington, Missouri, and Tim Buckner and wife Alice of Republic, Missouri, one daughter, Teresa Rose and husband Roger of Eminence, Missouri, one brother, Bernice Buckner of Redford, Missouri, one sister, Louise Brannum of Lemay, Missouri, 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Bill will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 16, 2021, 11AM-1PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.Funeral followed at 1PM.Minister was Pastor Doug Massie. In Lieu of Flowers: Donations can be made to the Running Dog Association. Arrangements by McSpadden Funeral Home, Ellington, Missouri.
