Robert “Bob” Gerald Adcox
Robert “Bob” Gerald Adcox, son of the late William Aldon Adcox and Elisabeth (Roussel) Adcox, was born in Amagon, Arkansas, on July 1, 1940. He departed this life at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 12, 2021, at the age of 81.
On March 20, 1965, in Newport, Arkansas, Bob was united in marriage to Charlene Jones and to this union two sons were born. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 82 and 101 Airborne. He was a member of the Surrounded Hill Baptist Church and the VFW American Legion. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and walking the boundary lines of his property. In 1980, Bob was the Archery State and National Champion. Bob’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Don Adcox.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Charlene Adcox of Lesterville, Missouri, two sons, Charles Adcox of Lesterville, Missouri, and Bobby Adcox and wife Sarah of Hillsboro, Missouri, two brothers, Darrell Adcox and wife Marie of Pennington, Arkansas, and Lavirl Edwards of Texas, three sisters, Dorothy Ford of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Regina Lipinot of Arnold, Missouri, and Barbara Mathes and husband Ray of Harrison, Arkansas, sister-in-law, Janice Adcox of Brewer, Missouri, two grandchildren, Elisabeth Jordan and husband Robbie of Sarasota, Florida, and Madelyn Adcox of Hillsboro, Missouri, and four great-grandchildren, Bradley, Evelyn, Ethan and Annabelle. Bob will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing Visitation was Thursday, November 18, 2021, 10AM-1PM at McSpadden Funeral Home, Lesterville, Missouri Funeral followed at 1PM.Minister was Pastor Mark Sutton. Burial was at Taum Sauk Cemetery.
