JoAnn “Jo” Marie Fairchild

JoAnn “Jo” Marie Fairchild, 54, of Annapolis, MO, formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in St. Louis, MO, June 22, 1967, to parents Thomas Edward and Judith Ann Gerstacker. Jo was raised in St. Louis and had graduated from Ritenour High School. She was a loving daughter, wife, and friend, and was an excellent hairstylist. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, genealogy, belly dancing, antiquing, and gardening. She loved her home in Reynolds County and the peace it brought. Jo was a non-denominational Christian. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving family; husband of twenty-one years: Steve Fairchild; mother: Judith Ann Gerstacker nee’ Allison of St. Louis, MO; stepdaughter: Stephanie Fairchild Heisler of Phoenix, AZ; great uncle and aunt: George and Rita Nyhoff of Chesterfield, MO; nieces: Jessica Baker and husband Tad, Sarah Georgia, and Brandy Georgia of St. Louis, MO; and cousins: Dale Laubert of Sullivan and Brian Karr of St. Ann, MO. Jo was preceded in death by her father; uncle: Ralph Allison; aunt: Rosalie Cazzell; paternal grandparents: Edward J. Gerstacker and Marie M. Gerstacker nee’ White; maternal grandparents: Clyde Allison and Marie Allison nee’ Nyhoff; and cousin: Dodie Getzlow. Visitation was held Monday, January 17, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, MO. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Zac Powers, Dale Laubert, Dave Taylor, George Nyhoff, Vince Cangelosi, and Ted Baker served as pallbearers.
