Jacob Benjamin Karl Allers

Jacob Benjamin Karl Allers of Pilot Knob, Missouri passed away July 9, 2022, at Meadowbrook Residential Care in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 90 years. He was born July 16, 1931, in Pilot Knob, Missouri the son of the late Karl and Mary (Miller) Allers.

Jake was united in marriage to the late Clara Mae Ray Cloin on October 23, 1954. They were the parents of four children: Karl Allers who preceded him in death, Deborah Moyers (Alan) of Ironton, MO, Mary Coleman of Dinwiddie, VA, and Teresa Milles (Chris) of Melbourne, FL.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Jason Moyers, Eric Allers, Freddy Morrison, Shellie Coleman, and Matt Coleman, ten great grandchildren, one great, great grandson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jake is preceded in death by four brothers: Arthur Green, Herb Green, Paul Green and William Green as well as two sisters: Gladys Orrick and Virgie Green.

Jake proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Reserves. He received several distinguished honors in Korea. He first worked for the Nooter Corporation and then he later worked for many local companies including T.S.C. Lumber, Reed and Reed Lumber, and Hannah Mining. Jake completed his career working for the City of Pilot Knob until his retirement. After his “retirement” Jake stayed busy with his wife, Clara Mae, operating their lawn care service. Jake was a lifetime member of the VFW.  His membership was in Ironton and later in Bismarck.  He was a long-time member of the Pilot Knob First Baptist Church. He enjoyed blue grass and country music. Jake loved horses and he loved to read – sometimes reading a book a day.  Westerns were his favorite.  Jake will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel in Pilot Knob, Missouri with Pastors David Wright, and Jim Kitchens officiating. Visitation was prior to the service. Interment was in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
