Two-Vehicle Crash Closed Highway 49 for a Couple Hours
A two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 north of Annapolis Saturday closed the roadway for about two hours as emergency workers tended the injured and cleared the highway.
The accident occurred at 10:05 a.m. three miles north of Annapolis. Travis C. Wren 29, of Bonne Terre was southbound in a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. Christopher G. Storz, 49, of St. Louis was northbound in a 2016 Honda CRV. The Highway Patrol said the crash occurred when Wren’s vehicle travelled into the northbound lane and struck Storz’s vehicle. Storz’s vehicle then overturned.
Travis Wren, who the Highway Patrol said was not wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries. He was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
A passenger in Wren’s vehicle, 37-year-old Bobbie J. Ramirez of Bonne Terre, also had moderate injuries. The Highway Patrol said she was not wearing a seat belt. She was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hosptial in St. Louis.
Helen S. Buck, 48, of Annapolis, a passenger in the Storz’s vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Iron County Medical Center.
Christopher G. Storz also had minor injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Iron County Medical Center.
Misty D. Hollingsworth, 51, of DeSoto, a passenger in Wren’s vehicle sustained minor injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Iron County Medical Center.
Two Sustain Minor Injuries
Two people sustained minor injuries July 31 in a one-vehicle crash. The accident occurred on Highway CC, eight miles south of Arcadia.
Timothy R. Thurman, 18, of Pilot Knob was southbound in a 2003 Ford F150 pickup. The Highway Patrol said Thurman’s vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
Thurman and a passenger, Landon Robinson, both sustained minor injuries. They were taken by private conveyance to Iron County Hospital for treatment.
