Byron Ray Tucker
Byron Ray Tucker of Annapolis, Missouri passed away on August 20, 2022, in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 93 years. He was born February 10, 1929, in Williamsville, Missouri the son of the late Ray and Mary Elizabeth (Heitman) Tucker.
On February 14, 1959, he was united in marriage to Glenda Jean Smith who preceded him in death on June 15, 2019. Byron is survived by his son, Michael and wife, Julie of Annapolis, Missouri, two grandchildren: Jamie and Ryan Chilton of Ellington, Missouri, and Jodie and Shawn Wells of Whitewater, Missouri, four great grandchildren: Cason Chilton, Hadley Chilton, Laiken Wells and Krew Wells as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Byron was preceded in death by his sister: Arcellia Skaggs, his stepsister, Agnes Brewer and his stepbrothers: Mainus Funk and Edward “Bud” Funk.
Byron proudly served his country in the United States Army following graduation. He then worked at Continental Can in St. Louis before moving to Annapolis. After moving, he worked for ASARCO where he retired from in 1992. Byron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gigging, playing pinochle and skip-bo. He loved traveling in his RV with Glenda, and he took pictures everywhere he went. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #239 in Lesterville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 2, 2022, at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was. prior to the service. A Masonic Service was held prior to the service. Interment will be in the Annapolis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Annapolis Cemetery Association or the Mann Cemetery Association.
