Muffin Hisserich

Muffin Hisserich, of Ironton, MO entered into rest on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 4 days. She was born January 14, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to the late Frank C. and Amy Marie (Bonn) Swengros.

On June 25, 1948, Muffin was united in marriage to James “Jim” Hisserich who preceded her in rest on April 28, 2020. To this marriage three children were born; Stephanie James and companion Gail Smith of Fredericktown, MO, Robin (Don) Klaas of Chesterfield, MO, and Bob (Tracey) Hisserich of Redford, MO, all of whom survive. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Robert, Nick, Mark, and Andrew, one great-grandchild Addie, and many more loving family members are friends.

She is preceded in rest by her parents, her husband Jim, a granddaughter Erin Marshall, and three sisters; Martha Jean Glowczwski, Mary Jane Glowczwski, and Dorothy Kraull.

For many years Muffin worked as a receptionist for a carpet company, and then as a secretary for Jim’s company the J.F. Hisserich Company to help support her family. Muffin was a member of the Iron County Garden Club, the Arcadia Valley Country Club, the Iron County Historical Society, and attended church at the Baptist Home. She was also a skilled and avid quilter and embroiderer, making many pieces for family members throughout the years.

Muffin will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cole Family Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM at Cole Family Chapel. Interment will follow the services in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Elder Mark Sutton will be officiating the services.
