Kenneth L. Gray

Rev. Kenneth L. Gray, age 83, passed away Sunday, October 2 2022 at his home in Piedmont. He was born June 7, 1939 in St. Louis, MO, the son of William and Margaret Gray. Ken was raised in the Licking area and received his Doctorate in Theology Degree from Clarksville School of Theology in Clarksville, TN.

He pastored and preached for over 60 years and never wavered from his calling. He ministered as an Evangelist and pastored many Southern Baptist churches in Missouri, including First Baptist Church of Piedmont. Rev. Gray was married to Helen Brown May 31, 1964 at the Edgar Springs Baptist Church in Licking and they recently celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Rev. William and Margaret Gray, one brother, Ronnie Gray, and his sister-in-law, Ruby Gray.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Gray, of the home, three children, Ginger Zaagsma and her husband John, of Springfield, MO, Derek Gray, of Piedmont, Deven Gray, of Aurora, MO, one brother, Boyd Gray, of Atlanta, GA, several cousins and many other family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Rock Springs Baptist Church near Licking, MO with Rev. Ron Griffith officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Derek Gray, John Zaagsma, Calvin Gray, Roger Kinder, Chuck Stull and Nick Schmitt served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Mt. Herman Cemetery near Licking under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
