Denver ‘Curt’ Curtis Skaggs
Denver “Curt” Curtis Skaggs, 75, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at his residence.
He was born in Gravelton, MO, Wayne County, February 28, 1947, to parents Denver Troy and Letha Marie (Stevens) Skaggs.
Curt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He started school at Gravelton and graduated from Greenville High School. He married Betty Eaton on June 27, 1970, and they were blessed with two children.
Curt served our country in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam era. He was self-employed working in the timber industry hauling logs for many in the southeast region.
Curt was a simple man and took pride in taking care of his family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Curt is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years; sons: Toby Skaggs and wife Barb of Annapolis, Jeff Skaggs and wife Amy of Cascade; grandchildren: Curtis Skaggs, Sylas Skaggs; sisters: Shirley Haggett and husband John of Silva, Margie Mize and husband Jim of Poplar Bluff, Veda Robinson and husband Dwain of Wappapello. Curt was loved by many and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, also in the Piedmont Chapel.
Pastor Richard Sanders and Pastor Richard Sikes ministered to the family. Jeff Skaggs, Curtis Skaggs, Marty Yount, Toby Skaggs, Sylas Skaggs, and Brad Haggett served as pallbearers.
