Garrison Named All-American

Krysten Garrison of Piedmont has received national recognition for her volleyball skills. She is currently a senior at Eckerd College in Florida. She is graduating soon and hopes to continue her volleyball career in Europe.
Garrison, and one of her teammates, Junior, Anna Jungjohann, were both named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention Team. Garrison and Jungjohann were instrumental in Eckerd’s NCAA Tournament appearance this year and a record-setting season with three wins over nationally-ranked opponents.
The Piedmont, Missouri native, Garrison, was named First Team AVCA All-South Region earlier this month, as well as First Team All-SSC. She garnered SSC Setter of the Week honors four times this season, averaging 10.10 assists, 1.93 digs, 1.35 kills, and 0.54 blocks per set. Garrison ranked 39th in the nation in assists per set and tied for 13th in the nation in triple-doubles with two. Only 18 players in all of Division II had two or more triple-doubles.
The pair contributed to an offense that posted a .238 hitting percentage, ranking 40th in the country.
Garrison and Jungjohann are the first Tritons to be named All-Americans since 2017, and is the first time since 2013 that Eckerd has had two players receive All-American honors. Garrison is the first setter in program history to earn All-American honors.
