Jackson Dean Elliott

Jackson Dean Elliott of Ironton, Missouri passed away December 6, 2022, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of eighty-eight years.  He was born October 25, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Charles “Chat” and Hannah (Hicks) Elliott.  Jack’s father died when he was very young. His mother married Charles Browers and he raised Jack as his son.

Jack was a 1954 graduate of Ironton High School.  Following graduation, he proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korea Conflict.  Following his time in the Army he went to work at McDonnel Douglas where he worked for thirty-five years until his retirement.  Jack worked as a supervisor and had top secret clearance building aircraft such as the F-4 and the F-15.  He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.  Jack was a past member of the Arcadia Valley Elks Lodge and the Fredericktown Elks Lodge serving as Chaplain for both lodges.  He loved to hunt and work on his land.  He built barns, raised goats and chickens, and cut wood.  Anything to do with being outdoors and working made him happy.

On August 15, 1959, he was united in marriage to Carol Marie Marler who survives.  They were blessed with sixty-three years of marriage.  Jack is survived by four children: Michael Elliott, Jackie D. Elliott of Ironton, Kevin C. Elliott of Ironton, and Debra March of Wentzville, eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and he was guardian to his great nephew, Kelly Allan.  Jack was preceded in death by two sisters: Janelle Elliott and Delores (Browers) Allan.

Funeral services with full military honors were held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randall Stevens officiating.  Visitation began at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Online condolences may be made to the family at www.brysonfuneralhome.com.
