Several Groups Helping Other This Christmas

With the holiday season already here, numerous businesses and organizations have set up different drives throughout the county.
The East Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has a toy donation box set up at Dollar General. First Midwest Bank has an angel tree set up with nursing home residents’ names on it.
At the high schoo in Greenville, Jeanette Walk is buying coats with money donated from the Masons Lodge in Greenville and giving them to students who need one. Trails End has an angel tree set up with foster kids’ names on it.
Greenville Eastern Star Chapter #337 is holding their 10th annual Christmas Food Drive. All food collected will be given to the local Jonah’s Java ministries. Richard’s Supermarket is having a shop with a cop.
The Greenville Elementary School Jr. Beta Club is having a book drive. Over at the Jr. High/High School, their Beta Clubs are also having a drive. They are accepting brushes, combs, deodorant, socks, underwear, shampoo and bodywash.
In Piedmont, the Zephyr Cafe has an angel tree setup with DFS names attached to it; the final names were claimed Friday by people with giving hearts.
The Clearwater Fire District has certain donors for what they call the Santa Cause. They collect donations for the benefit of local families, who remain anonymous. The donations are collected to help the struggling families make ends meet.
The Eagles are making food baskets and are also doing Toys for Tots. Clearwater Head Start is also holding a drive.
Tabernacle Baptist Church participated in Operation Christmas Child in Baltimore. Christmas is the time of giving, so make sure to spread your cheer this holiday season.
