Shirley Ann Shearrer
Shirley Ann Shearrer, age 87 of Piedmont, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, MO. She was born February 24, 1935 in Cherry Grove, Patterson, MO, the daughter of Fenton White and Mabel (Garren) White.
Shirley was raised at Patterson and graduated from Patterson High School. She was united in marriage to John Paul Dinkins and to this union three daughters were born. She was the Activities Director and later a CNA at Clark’s Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont. She was a charter member of the Patterson United Methodist Church and later a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Shirley was a loving mother, homemaker and farm wife. She was married to Clyde Shearrer and he survives, residing in Piedmont.
Also surviving are three daughters, Rebecca Gavan Cooke, of Patterson, Beverly Knox and her husband Ed, of Piedmont, Tara Hillis and her husband Gary, of Piedmont, two step daughters, Cheryl Howard, of Jefferson County, MO and Lisa Carter, of St. Louis, MO. In addition, she is survived by ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Pastor Brian Abbott of ciating. Special recorded songs were played for the service and Justin Carter, Jason Gavan, Jesse Hillis, Luke Hillis, Brooke Hinklin, Veronica Wheelehon,
Tessa Shanera and Lindsey Fowler served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Patterson Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been requested to the Patterson Cemetery Association.
