Linda Pauline Ward

Linda Pauline Ward of Annapolis, Missouri passed away January 21, 2023 in Piedmont, Missouri surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 29, 1947 in Ironton, Missouri the daughter of the late Howard C. “Sambo” and Beulah (Lewis) Scaggs.

On February 12, 1972 she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Vinson Ward.  He preceded her in death on December 14, 2004.  To this union a son, Dwayne Ward was born.  Dwayne and his wife, Denise reside in Fredericktown, Missouri.  Linda is also survived by five grandchildren: Rashell, Crystal, Mark, Matthew, and Cheyenna, and four great grandchildren: Saya, Amara, Hayden, and Legacy.  In addition to her grandchildren, Linda is survived by her brother, Jim Scaggs (Susie) of Annapolis, and her sisters: Karen Johnson (Rick) of Annapolis, Diane Mann (Clifford) of Silva, Gayle Eaton of Imperial, Paula Hamilton of Piedmont, and Judy Lichtenegger of Fruitland, Missouri as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Scaggs and two sisters; Lisa Hovis and Mary Scaggs.

Linda was a graduate of South Iron High School.  She was a member of Annapolis First Baptist Church.  Linda worked at Sherrill’s Mini Mart in Annapolis for over twenty years.  She loved to go shopping and she loved to visit.  Her family and her church were very important to her.  In her free time, she enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching game shows on TV.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Annapolis First Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Pitchers officiating.  Visitation began at 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Visitation was on Friday evening, January 27, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, Missouri.  Interment was in Meadows Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
