Artie Arthur Street

Artie Arthur Street, age 86, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home near Piedmont. He was born August 6, 1936 in Piedmont, the son of George Street and Bertha (Pruitt) Street. Artie was married to Fay Kirkpatrick July 14, 1961 at Peachtree and was a lifelong resident of the Piedmont area.
Artie worked for the railroad, Brown Shoe Company and finally Garden Foods before his retirement. He loved his farm and raised cattle and hogs and always had a large garden. He was a long time member of the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents, George and Bertha Street, 5 brothers, Winfred Julian, Bill Street, Charles Street, Arbrie Street and Herbert Street, and 1 sister, Dollie Laxton.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Fay Street, of the home, 4 children, Delbert Street and his wife Robin, of Piedmont, Vivian Mabury and her husband Jeff, of Patterson, Laura Myers and her husband Bob, of Piedmont and Nora Lavella and her husband Mike, of Farmington, MO.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont with Rev. James Adair and Rev. Johnny Clements officiating. Special songs were played for the service and Artie E. Street, Jeremy Bennett, Justin Bennett, Victor Lavella, Thomas Smith, Ethan Mabury, Kyle Mabury and Haven Willis served as Pallbearers. Bob Casey, Robert Fulton, Tim Loucks, Jerod Street, Kyle Pettus and Nathan Millmaker served as Honorary Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Ruble Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel. Memorials have been requested to the Lebanon Baptist Church.
