Betty D. Capps

Betty D. Capps, age 87, of Greenville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO. She was born July 31, 1935 in Neelyville, MO, the daughter of Albert and Nellie (Phipps) Atnip.
Betty was a homemaker and a long time member of Camp Eight General Baptist Church. She was married to James Griffin and he passed away in 1973. She was married to Roy Capps, Jr. June 1, 1978 and he passed away March 14, 2015.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, Albert and Nellie Atnip, 2 brothers, Johnny and Jimmy Atnip, and 2 sisters, Lois Hill and Mary Lou Meese.
Survivors include 6 children, Judy Osborn-Hill and her husband Ed, of Greenville, Jeanie Hensley and her husband Dan, of Greenville, Brenda Meese and her husband Everett, of Greenville, Rita Robinson and her husband Dale, of Greenville, James Griffin, Jr and his wife Micky, of Greenville, Dennis Capps, of California; 2 sisters, Shirley Coplin, of Greenville and Barbara Scales and her husband Don, of Rector, AR.
Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, Jennifer, Richard, Kristy, Taresa, Jeff, Eric, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Sheila, Marilyn, Charles, Andy, Jase, Jason, Brittany, Amber, Jimi, Lisa, Larry, Sarah, Sarah Anne, Jamie, Christine, Dennis, Jr. and Alexis, along with many great and great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the Camp Eight General Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Meese officiating. A special recorded song was played for the service and Jocyln Payne, Carolyn Elder and Mary Ella Hopper provided special music. Trace Holliday, Carter Irions, Parker Irions, Brandon West, Andy Osborn, Jeffrey Robinson, Sean Hampton and Jase Osborn served as Pall Bearers. Interment was in the Camp Eight-Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Chapel.
